THE ELUSIVE DREAM RETREAT

If you’ve listened to season one of The Elusive Dream Podcast then get ready for a deeper dive with Dr. Korie Little Edwards and Pastor Rich Johnson with The Elusive Dream Retreat. The Elusive Dream Retreat is an intimate retreat designed for the nurture and care of religious leaders in the body of Christ who minister to people of color. Participants will learn how racism and racial injustice, which has fractured the beloved family of Christ, impacts our churches and organizations. More importantly, participants will be guided through a process of interior spiritual formation that encourages spiritual and emotional wellness and growth. In the American context, this includes becoming aware of and deconstructing the white supremacist beliefs and narratives we have internalized so that we can see and embrace our belovedness and true identity as children of the most High God. The Elusive Dream Retreat will be a sacred time and space set aside just for you to grow in freedom and fulfillment in your unique position of service in the body of Christ. It is our hope that you will join us on this journey where you take time to focus on yourself, rest, learn, grow, and be seen and heard.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The Elusive Dream Retreat is an intimate retreat designed for the nurture and care of certain religious leaders in the body of Christ. They are: (i) religious leaders of color, (ii) religious leaders working in multiracial (at least 20% people of color) Christian organizations; or (iii) religious leaders of Christian organizations that are predominately for and made up of people of color. Religious leaders include:

• Clergy: Church pastors or priests working in churches affiliated with any Christian denomination
• Denominational leaders with any Christian denomination
• Leaders of non-profit Christian organizations

Methodist Theological School in Ohio is located on 80 hillside acres in Greater Columbus, on U.S Route 23 just 10 miles north of I-270. 

ACCOMMODATIONS

Participants will be staying in Dewire Residence Hall. Rooms are similar to that of a hotel with bathrooms shared between two rooms. 

TOTAL COST = $475.00

Space is limited. Includes cost of lodging, food, drinks, snacks, and material. Payment due June 13, 2022

Retreat participants are asked to listen to season one of The Elusive Dream Podcast and become familiar with the corresponding Reflection Guide. 

PROOF OF COVID 19 VACCINATION REQUIRED: Please submit scanned copies of your vaccination cards indicating full vaccination against COVID 19 by June 21, 2022. Also, please be sure to bring proof of vaccination against COVID 19 (scanned copies or photos acceptable) with you to the retreat.
